Balancing Act

Sometimes I feel like I am being pulled in 50 different directions, from wife to mother, sister, friend, confidante..I get overwhelmed even on my best days. As women we tend to have the desire to be all things to all people. We want to nurture and respond when an issue or problem arises and oftentimes even if it means neglecting ourselves we give and give until we are completely burned out.
Balance by definition is the equal distribution of weight, it is also referred to as metal steadiness or the habit of calm. It is the steadying of one’s feelings, thoughts, emotions, and will working harmoniously together in an habitual state that produces peace. It is the interchangeable precision of your body functioning according to God’s perfect plan.
How do you know when your life is out of balance…it is the time when the peace becomes a pursuit rather than habit and when the stressors of life have overtaken your mind, body, and soul. It is the moment that you realize that the formidable oppositions of life have overthrown the governing function of calm in your life.
Trust me, I know that there are times when life throws so many things your way that finding and achieving balance becomes difficult, sometimes virtually impossible. But even in those times there is hope, there is a way to overcome the loss of symmetry and to align your life so that you find yourself back on track.
The first step is certainly acknowledging that you have lost your way. That you have allowed, your life to become disproportionate and inequitable. This acknowledgement signifies that no matter what is going on in your life there must be a cause for balance, a cause for peace.
Second, you need to regain hold of your life, sometimes we become so consumed with taking up a cause, taking care of others, pursuing a dream, planning a life that we forget the need for harmony. In all things we must find balance, there is no focus or pursuit that does not involve balance. Balance is the scale of success, if you have gained the world and lost everything else in your pursuit then your end is meaningless and your cause a complete failure.
Lastly, you must implement boundaries, boundaries are the fundamentals of balance. They manage and direct the position of your life. Boundaries speak to opposition and stress encapsulating those attributes to their appropriate place in your life, never giving too much but never taking away too little. Boundaries are the government of balance scaling back the enemy that would attempt to overthrow the peace in your life.
Find a balancing act in your life, don’t overtly commit yourself to a life of mismanagement, but force yourself into a life of discipline and harmony that encourages an act of your wills working conjunction with the act of your purpose. Reclaim your life, your peace, your harmony, your spirit…
Make it a great Day
